Dude, Where's My Car?

Overview

Fans of this modern-day Bill and Ted-style film will delight in this DVD edition from 20th Century-Fox. Offering a raucous commentary and a smattering of notable extras, this is a substantial packaging for a rather unsubstantial movie. The picture is a solid 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer that effectively highlights the day-glo colors of the film's more garish locales. There's little use of sound here, but the Dolby Digital 5.1 format occasionally gets a chance to shine. As for extras, the viewers get a ...

As for extras, the viewers get a commentary track from director Danny Leiner and stars Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott. The track is certainly worth a listen, if only for the fact that the trio appears to be completely intoxicated. They trade anecdotes and observations about the filming, in speech that becomes increasingly slurred as the film progresses. It's definitely a change from the standard commentaries usually offered on DVD. Also included are a handful of extended scenes. While none of these are truly riotous, they're occasionally amusing. Additionally, the DVD includes a trailer and three TV spots, a promotional featurette, and a music video from the film's soundtrack. Those who love the type of moronic humor Dude, Where's My Car? showcases will certainly find much to recommend this DVD. All others will only find more of what kept them away in the first place.

I have seen this movie probably 10 times and it is still one of the funniest movies ever made. The tattoo scene is hysterical. It is in my top five favorite films of all time. It's really irritating to hear people say they don't want to see it because of the title, but they are missing out on some very sophisticated and clever comedy.

One of the all time greatest movies by Fox

I loved this movie all the way to the roof. It displays popular culture mixed in with the kind of comedy you see in Evolution and the Almost ancient Sgt. Bilko. The best scenes to me were the "And then" at the chineese fooooooood place and "Screw the Universe" at the impound lot. i would recommend this movie to anyone because it is funny and dumb funny like dynamite.

    funny

This movie is not giong to win an award probably anytime soon, but i doubt that was the creators intention. They were probably just trying to mak ea funny comedy that makes people laugh, and that is exactly what they did. This is one of the funniest movies i have ever seen..not smart one bit lol...but funnier than anything else i've seen.

    A convert to the movie

The first time I saw this movie, I thought that it was mindless and stupid. However, after being forced to watch it another few times, I begrudgingly began to really enjoy it. After all, who couldn't laugh at a device call the continuum transfunctioner guarded by an ambiguously gay sweedish duo. A great farce.

    Dude, where's the movie?

I could have had more fun in a wet cat litter box than I did watching this movie. When are people going to realize it takes more than dope-headed stupidity to make a comedy?

    I Am Nonplussed

I am completely nonplussed as to why anyone perceives this movie's plot as ''brilliant.'' That amuses me- this movie is nothing more than an insipid teen comedy that reflects how our society has degenerated into a condition in which we view abandoning all self control as admiral. However, it is a delightful film to watch with a group of friends and a pint of Ben & Jerry's (speaking of losing self-control). Go ahead, watch it!

I think they were both cute.

Great movie!! I like all the scenes in which they are shirtless. Especially the one where they do the deep kissing. What a beautiful scene to see two studs frenching.

The greatest movie in the world

There is no movie greater than this. I couldn't stop laughing through the whole thing...then I watched it again...and again...and again... and it was still funny when I watched it the 27th time (no joke!) The only thing that comes close to it is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. If you don't watch this movie, you're missing out on one of the greatest films of your lifetime.
