    I Also Recommend:

Horrible! Waste of money and time.

Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield is a horrible movie. The acting was mediocre. The special effects were good. The story, however, stunk. Ed Gein was not portrayed as he really was and the story itself did not follow the actual events of Gein's life. I do not recommend this movie and advise against purchasing it.

    Highly Inaccurate

While this edition of Ed Gein was produced with a higher budget than the one with Steve Railsback, it takes way too much artistic license. In fact, other than the name of the protagonist in the title role, and his habits of murder, grave robbing, and use of his victims' bodies everything else was pure fiction. Especially how the role of Ed Gein was cast. Instead of the scowling hulk in this film, the real life Ed was a dimunative man always with a smile and cheery disposition. This movie, though technically well made, was a complete farce and waste.
