Awesome movie! Will Ferril plays the role of an orphan, named Buddy, who gets raised by (Christmas) elves in the north pole. Buddy has never quite fit in...and he begins to realize that he isn't an elf. As the story goes on, Buddy goes to New York City to try and find his real dad.(He is looked at a litte strangely, with his elf suit and crazy personality!)
I would reccommend this movie to anyone in the mood for innocent fun and lots of laughs:)

Have you ever wanted to see something non-realistic that becomes realistic? Well stop looking because it has been found! It¿s the movie Elf! This movie was great because it was funny, cheerful, and entertaining. The main character is Will Ferrell and James Caan. This movie is about a baby who was born into orphanage and snuck into Santa Claus¿s bag on Christmas Eve. Santa brought him home and made him an elf, even though he is a human. He is over 20 years old now and still thinks he¿s an elf. He finally finds out and goes searching for his real dad in New York City, but has some conflict along the way and with his dad. This movie teaches you to basically not to judge a book by its cover. There is a lot of cheerful, original, and Christmas-y songs all throughout the movie. This movie was so funny because he still thinks he¿s an elf through the whole movie until the end. The movie had a part when Will Ferrell, ¿Buddy¿, was decorating a store for Santa because the boss thought that he worked there because of the way he dressed, but he didn¿t. The really early morning he heard music coming from the shower, so he went to go check it out. There was a worker that he met, Jovie, in the girls¿ locker room in the shower and he was sitting on the sink singing with her. She heard him and she yelled at him to not look at her and get out. He put his hands over his eyes and started running toward the door and ran straight into the lockers. This movie really captures the spirit of Christmas. It has cheerful music, people, and so much more. Everyone is all nice, weird, and of course cheerful. Well almost anyone. The music is all original Christmas songs that everyone knows. The further you go in the movie the more cheerful it gets. The reason why this movie is entertaining is because of everything in it. It¿s about Christmas, which everyone loves, and it¿s hilarious! If you like funny, cheerful, and entertaining Christmas movies then this would be your favorite one. I would recommend this movie to everyone. I hope you enjoy this movie if you watch it.

Elf is my favorite holiday movie. A playful , naïve elf played by Will Farrell leaves the north pole to search for his real dad in New York city, who turns out to be a hard hearted children's book editor played by James Caan. Elf spends his time spreading Christmas cheer and attempting to win the love of his father. On Christmas Eve his father has a change of heart and just in time to save Christmas New York City is invigorated with a dose of Christmas spirit. This is one of those movies that's full of quote-ables, and sing-ables. It's memorable, uplifting and heart-warming. Thanks to Jon Favreau for this quintessential holiday classic!

Watch the movie, put away your logic, and enjoy a Christmas fairy tale. I think this could become a classic.

This is one of the best christmas movies that I've ever seen in years. Will Ferrell is hysterically lovable. James Caan, Zooey Deschanel, Mary Steenburgen, Ed Asner & Bob Newhart complete an extremely talented supporting cast. Jon Favreau is a talented force to reckoned with, and I hope he continues to direct more movies in the future. I'm looking forward to this modern classic taking its' place to be one of the popular christmas films in movie history.

What the hell is this infantile mess? How on earth could anyone over the age of five actually enjoy this movie? This is a film that I would expect from a first time director (just like Napoleon Dynamite, but that actually was from a first time director). Within the first thirty minutes of this film, the viewer finds him or herself lost in how boring and monotonous Will Ferrel's acting is. Let's be honest, do you ever see Will Ferrel act in variation to the oaf-ish goof persona? Do you ever see him widening his range and playing in a serious role? No, you don't. He plays the same kind of character in every single thing he does and that's what takes the entertainment out of this film. This movie is like watching an SNL Christmas Special with Will Ferrel as the main actor. He has no variety, no diversity, and without a speck of change in sight, can he really be called a respectable actor? Completely amateur directing, writing, and acting makes for an E-rated movie

Elf was hilarious! When Buddy thought the heating thing was a monster I couldn't breathe at how hard I laughed! And how he was not a great elf, and how he threw the snowballs like crazy! The movie made me laugh so hard I thought I would throw up. When he's in the store window and bangs on it calling Dad, that was funny how his dad (James Caan is a good actor also) ignored him, and how he bought his dad sleep wear for women because it read that special someone. Will Ferrell is my favorite actor ever, next to Johnny Depp.
