Classic Disney animation meets contemporary urban chaos when a frightened princess is banished from her magical animated homeland to modern-day New York City in a romantic comedy penned by Bill Kelly (Blast from the Past), directed by Kevin Lima (Tarzan), and featuring music by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) lives in the blissful cartoon world of Andalasia, where magical beings frolic freely and musical interludes punctuate every interaction. Though Princess Giselle is currently engaged to be married to the handsome Prince Edward (James Marsden), her fate takes a turn for the worse when the villainous Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) banishes her to the unforgiving metropolis of New York City. As the cruelty of the big city soon begins to wear down the fairy-tale exterior of the once-carefree princess, the frightened Giselle soon finds herself falling for a friendly but flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) whose kind compassion helps her to survive in this strange and dangerous new world.

    Enchanted

This is one of my favorite Disney movies. I love the songs. Amy Adams is really believeable as a cartoon princess that gets dropped into the real world. Patrick Dempsey is a modern day prince charming. My kids like this movie too. There are portions of this movie, such as the insects and animals cleaning that are hilarious. We have even watched the portion of the DVD showing how the scenes were filmed which is quite interesting. Overall a very entertaining movie.

    Great for Kids and Adults

This was a great movie that definitely leaves the viewer wanting a sequel. The story was very innocent and original and a nice change from some of the other films out in the market today. This is definitely a must have for kids and adults alike.

    For Ages 8 to 80

Watched Enchanted with the Grandkids on Easter Sunday. Cried at the end, the film was soooo sweet and funny. It took me back to my childhood when I grew up on Cinderella and Snow White and all the other great Disney movies. Own It!

    A reviewer

This is the best movie I have seen. It is full of happiness and makes you forget about all your worries. One would think it is a movie for kids (I am 31) but any age would be enchanted by seeing this movie. Enjoy!

    Outstanding

One of the best movies I saw in 2007. The kids can't wait for this to come out. Although I'm not sure who liked it more, them or me (Dad).

    I Also Recommend:

    Should Have Had More Songs.

In my opinion it's the musical sequences that really save this movie. Amy Adams does a GREAT job as a Disney Princess (and the guy who played the prince was really good too). I just have a problem with the whole climax where I felt like they put too much into it and there went the ease of suspending disbelief even for a Disney movie. It's a good movie, but not one that I (a 26 year old Disney mega-fan) could watch too many times without rolling my eyes at the over-the-top drama and "adventure." I do play the songs all the time in my car, however. They're very catchy and funny in the movie. Oh, and I think the two couples should have stayed with their original parters to teach the value of commitment, so the hapy ending made me sad.

New twist on an old fairy tale

This had enough to interest children and adults. It has a bit of Cinderella and a bit of Snow White with some very surprising twists. I enjoyed it very much.

    It was a surprise

I didn't watch this movie for along time when it came out cuz I thought is was going to be really stupid! Than I finally decided to watch with my niece and nephew, I was so surprised how much I enjoyed it! I thought it was very cute. This was a fun movie to watch!

Cute movie. (I could only watch once.)

Actually purchased for my 15yr old daughter. She's watched it several times as has my 19yr old. Just not my kind of movie but the other members of my family enjoyed it quite a bit. I am a fan of Disney movies this one just doesn't have replay value for ME.

    One of our favorite

Excellent movie all around. A classic. Could have done without Susan Sarandon though. She missed her cues and was unbelievable.

Loved it, but with one flaw....

"Enchanted" was exactly what I expected - a new twist to the ole' Walt Disney fairytale of dreams come true. The ONLY thing I didn't appreciate was the bathroom scene. Robert bursts into the bathroom to confront Giselle. She is just getting out of the shower and two birds are holding up a conveniently-placed towel so that the viewer doesn't see her body, just her arms/legs. Younger viewers probably won't have a problem with this, but some older ones (pre-puberty to puberty age) may be momentarily uncomfortable with the idea of a man bursting into a room w/a half-naked girl in it. Seriously Disney, was this really necessary?????? It definitely deserves the PG rating.

    Enchanting Movie

Enchanted is a very good movie. A touch on the adult side but still great for all family members. Includes some nice animation simular to Little Mermaid that jumps into live action. Some nice CGI with a Dragon that resembles the one in Shrek a little to much. Sit back and let Disney take you away on another great adventure. Special features - Disney can be annoying that they think deleted scenes mean storyboards that haven't been animated. Put the storyboards of scenes never made, in another category and leave the deleted scenes as actual footage that was cut from the film.
