    great concert

How could this not be a great DVD? I saw the concert on public television and knew I had to own it. Listening to music is one thing; watching musicians is another thing altogether. These are two of the greats and watching them perform numbers from Blind Faith brings back some pretty old memories. Great music; great show.

    2 Masters of Rock

Anyone who has seen the 2007 Crossroads DVD will not be disappointed. Clapton and Winwood are musical brothers, speaking through their gitars and their lyrics.

    I Also Recommend:

Clapton's bucket list results in great music

It would appear that the death of his old friend George Harrison had a tremendous effect on Eric Clapton for since the time of the Concert For George, Eric has determined to reach out to those great musicians he once played, sang, created, and fought with. I like to think of this as his personal "forgive and remember" tour. That reaching out first resulted in the Cream reunion which gave us one of the greatest concerts ever filmed, "Cream: Royal Albert Hall 2005". Having found forgiveness in that relationship, Eric proceeds to reach out to his old partner from Blind Faith, Steve Winwood. The resulting concert, "Live from Madison Square Garden" is not as good as the Cream reunion but it's a pretty terrific concert none the less. Despite the fact that Clapton and Winwood don't always seem to be on the same page during this concert, they perform fine renditions of their Blind Faith songs as well as some from Traffic, Cream, and a little of their solo stuff. They even do an interesting version of Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile" as well as a version of "Them Changes" in tribute to the great Buddy Miles. All in all, this is definitely a DVD you'll enjoy. With results as fantastic as this, we can only hope that Clapton's reaching out to the past will result in a few more reunion concerts.
