Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble
A longtime dream for Eric Clapton, the Crossroads Guitar Festival brought together many of the world's premiere axe-slingers for one gigantic jam session. Nearly 50,000 fans witnessed this once-in-a-lifetime convergence of guitarists from all musical styles that went down at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, in June 2004. Among six-string virtuosos in attendance at the three-day event were Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana, ZZ Top, James Taylor, John Mayer, Joe Walsh, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughn, Robert Randolph, Steve Vai, Pat Metheny, Eric Johnson, and, of course, Slowhand himself. This DVD condenses the three-day event into a two-disc set featuring all of the hottest performances and concluding in an all-star jam the likes of which may never be topped. Whether you play yourself or are just a skilled air guitarist, this is one DVD set you won't want to miss.

    Crossroads Rocks!!

This is an amazing DVD!!! Every performance on here is great. I wish they had a Jeff Beck performance, but oh well. Anyone who even thinks they like guitars should buy this DVD.

    This DVD rocks

The music is great, but the picture quality and sound quality of this DVD is the best I've come across yet. If you are like me and sound quality is important then this DVD is for you. The DTS track sounds wonderful for a live recording. It sounds like this was recorded in a studio rather than a live concert. The sound of the guitar solos on my sound system gives me chills it sounds so good.

    No All Star Jam

There was never an 'All Star Jam' as scheduled.Thunder and lightning made the show end early on Sunday evening.Jeff Beck played a fantastic 'Cause We Ended as Lovers' with EC and his band at the end of their set,UNFORTUNATELY it is not included on the DVD.I pray that there is another DVD being produced to complete this 'glimpse' of 3 days of great guitar performances.

    Great but Disappointing

As one who was there, it is a great keepsake, but disappointing that all of the artists weren't shown, Del Castillo had a great set, as did Booker T & the MG's. Robert Cray and Buddy Guy were fantastic, as always Clapton gave it his all and then some, would recommend it to anyone, especially anyone who didn't get the chance of a lifetime to be there and see it live.

    GREAT Crossroads fest

I love this DVD EC's 'Cocaine' blew the roof off any other version I heard. Also great are 'If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day' {OUTSTANDING}, 'I Shot The Sheriff' {again OUTSTANDING SOLO}, 'Rock Me Baby' with BB King, Clapton, Jimmie Vaughan & Buddy Guy... just great. THIS DVD ROCKS!!! Thanks EC & Co.

    Better in person

This is the only thing on my Christmas Wish list this year, even though I saw the whole show in person. Nothing beats seeing all of the Greatest Guitar Gods up there doing what they do best. It was one of the best shows I've seen this year and a once in a lifetime opportunity that was unforgettable.

Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD is a 'must have' !!

Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD is a 'must have' for all !! The Highlight on this DVD for me was to see and hear ERIC JOHNSON. Wow !! What can one say except that ERIC JOHNSON is Totally Awesome!! I would love to see and hear more DVD's/Concerts with ERIC JOHNSON !! 'Desert Rose' is a beautiful song-one of many by ERIC JOHNSON. It was truly awesome to see/hear this particular Eric Johnson song on this awesome DVD. In fact, it would have been totally awesome/great to have seen ERIC JOHNSON's whole set. Of course, I enjoyed verrry much seeing and hearing 'all of the other musicians' too. Everyone's performace was awesome/rocking!! Personally, I'm hoping an EC Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD-2, will be made available soon, also. This is truly an Awesome/Rare/Unique Guitar Documentary Festival DVD-as it is now but it could expand even more with ERIC JOHNSON, B.B King, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, etc... Besides this event was for such a worthy Cause-thought-up/arranged/present
