    Why are people violent?

A very moving story. Has a very obvious moral, which needs to be thought about carefully. This story really asks some interesting questions about why people fight wars. The colors are beautiful, and even though it seems cheesy at first, the opening song sticks with you!

    A reviewer

I would have to liken this anime to a rpg adventure. The characters start out inexperienced, quickly find themselves alone and then slowly gain friends and allies. There's a greater story at work, enemies all around and a number of skirmishes and battles, as well as love and friendship. Each episode leads right into the next and it views best as one complete story rather than episodically.

    I love it!

Escaflowne is a great anime adventure! I thought it was well done, except Allen could have been smarter. I love it!

    New Age Romance

This is a great series, it has, magic battle, dashing knights, Kings, beautiful Queens, evil sorcerer's, strange and beautiful creatures, Legendary armor, all on the planet of Gaia, add a mystery teenager from the Mystic Moon and you have the makings of a great romance story. As good as this anmie is it would not be the same with out the soundtrack of Yoko Kanno, and Hajime Mizoguchi which adds beautiful orchestral sound scapes to the story. What I found very interesting was anmimators must have been influenced by the 1984 production of Dune. The Kingdom of Zaibach in some ways looks very much like Baron Harkonen's captital city on Giede Prime, if you look close there are also the Diatom shaped space cruisers of Duke Atredies. Escaflowne is imaginative, and very entertaining.
