Overview

EuroArts adds to its vast catalogue of classical performances with this extraordinary two-hour concert film, one in a series of discs from that label featuring the Berlin Philharmonic. Recorded live at the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos in Lisbon, Portugal, Pierre Boulez conducts the symphony; selections include Maurice Ravel's "Le Tombeau de Couperin," Béla Bartók's "Concerto for Orchestra, Sz 116," and Claude Debussy's "Fêtes." The brilliant pianist Maria João Pires makes a guest appearance on the Mosteiro stage, interpreting Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Piano Concerto No. 20 in D Minor."
