The producers behind the debaucherous comedies Road Trip and Old School teamed up with jailbait actress Michelle Trachtenberg and relative newcomers Scott Mechlowicz, Jacob Pitts, and Travis Wester for this globetrotting raunchfest about four young Americans who traipse across Europe in search of one of the lads' sexy German pen pal. The unrated director's cut is presented with an impressive treatment on this DVD. Featuring a version of the film that is three minutes longer than the one shown in theaters, the disc bears a full-screen transfer of the film with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound soundtracks in both the original English and dubbed French. Additionally, the English audio track can be heard in Dolby Digital 2.0, and there are subtitles in English, Spanish, and French. And when the makers of this release say "unrated," they really mean unrated, even down to the menus and the collection of deleted scenes, which differ from those found on the simultaneously released R-rated DVD. There are multiples audio-commentary tracks included, as well as two featurettes, including one that takes fans behind the scenes of the infamous nude beach scene. Rounding out the package is a music video, a karaoke feature, bios, and an image gallery. In addition to the aforementioned rated version, Eurotrip is also available on an unrated widescreen disc with the same features.

Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide - Jeremy Wheeler
By default, Eurotrip is bound to be lumped in with the countless other gross-out comedies of its time, which is too bad, since it's chock-full of as many outlandish gags as all of the third-string American Pie rip-offs combined (including the truly dreadful American Wedding). Written by three Seinfeld alumni, this teen flick plays by the rules for the most part: The leads are fairly standard, while the surrounding wacky side characters usually take the spotlight whenever there isn't wall-to-wall (and non-discriminating) nudity. What separates this one, however, is the brilliantly bizarre situations into which the characters seem to get themselves. Sure, all the laughs stem from a borderline bigoted viewpoint, but that's the whole point (something that would've been more clear if the movie had kept its original title, The Ugly Americans). The flick does have its downsides, namely that you'll have to wade through some shabby "been there, done that" plotting in between the big laughs, but if you're game, it'll all be worth it when the fireworks hit. (The scene with the kid and the markers is shockingly funny in the worst possible way.) In fact, it remains to be seen just how many will be truly offended by this rowdy romp; with everyone from the Pope to Nazis being up for grabs comedy-wise, Eurotrip has the chance to make a lot of its sensitive audience pretty angry -- though to be fair, it wasn't made for them. This is a hard R-rated teen flick full of juvenile and ridiculous material that the kids will no doubt eat up. At the very least, it's worth it for the early scene-stealing cameo from Matt Damon, which gives the film one of its heartiest laughs.

I rented thismovie last weekend and I thought it was super funny. I just didn't lke the male nude beach scene. I didn't really like that. But besides that, this movie is relly good. I think it is one of the best and funniest movie I have ever seen!

This is probably THE funniest movie I've seen in a long time. Way better than 'Road Trip' and 'Old School' put together. Scotty doesn't know, but you should. Buy this movie already!!!

I enjoy 'teen comedies', not to mention the fact that this movie is supposed to make fun of Europeans, so I bought it. BIG MISTAKE! Imagine a couple of internet geeks writting a film in between their everquest and online porn, and you get a good idea of Eurotrip. I don't know why this is a 'comedy,' the jokes suck. The only funny moment is at the end when the German boy pretends to be Hitler, the rest is pure crap. Is breaking into the Vatican and burning religious stuff supposed to be funny? The whole storyline is dumb too, why would a guy go to Europe to meet a 'hottie' off the internet? Isn't that something fat, old losers do? The only people who might enjoy this flick are young boys who want to see some nudity, but why watch a boring movie for a few glimpses? Don't waste your money or your time on this movie. Instead try one of the 'Scary Movie' films or the 'American Pie' Series.

A huge waste of time. Tries to imitate American Pie, but succeeds in making AP look like a masterpiece in comparison. MediaMale
