Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble
ADV Films' latest Farscape box set collects five episodes of Season 3 #314-318 -- an exemplary group that exhibits all the outstanding qualities that have made this series one of the most successful genre offerings on television. The set kicks off with the brilliant two-parter, "Infinite Possibilities," in which Crichton star Ben Browder must access the wormhole technology hidden in his brain before a Scarran dreadnought arrives to hijack the data. In "Revenging Angel," Crichton is knocked unconscious by D'Argo, and seeks revenge by conjuring up a Road Runner-Coyote battle in his mind. "The Choice" finds Aeryn traveling to a planet of mystics in an attempt to contact the deceased Crichton. And in "Fractures," Moya picks up a damaged Leviathan pod carrying three escaped prisoners and a hostage -- painting a complicated picture when someone on board is shot. As always, the prosthetics and alien life forms designed by Jim Henson's Creature Shop are of feature-film quality, as are the other special effects. In a few short years, Farscape has become one of TV's most compelling hours, and you'll know why after watching these first-rate episodes. The two-disc DVD box includes an interview with star Anthony Simcoe and commentary by Claudia Black.
