Amy Heckerling's adaptation of Cameron Crowe's Fast Times at Ridgemont High is often considered one of the finest films of a disreputable genre (the teen sex comedy), and kick-started the careers of many future stars. The center of this ensemble film is Jennifer Jason Leigh as Stacy Hamilton. She is a young, innocent high-school student who, as the film opens, is asking for advice from her friend, the sexually outspoken Linda Barrett (Phoebe Cates). Stacy takes a liking to nebbish Mark Ratner (Brian Backer), but he is too afraid to make a move even after Stacy all but throws herself at him. She eventually hooks up with Mark's more confident best friend, Mike Damone (Robert Romanus). When not concerning itself with these four characters, the film spends time with stoned surfer dude Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) and his ongoing feud with history teacher Mr. Hand (Ray Walston). The film includes brief appearances by such future stars as Nicolas Cage, Eric Stoltz, and Forest Whitaker.

I thought the whole idea was pure geneous! It gives teens like me, excuses to screw up and have fun in highschool. A freashman, I have yet to know what it brings....in closing I would like to say that it makes me realize that teens have pretty much the same problems and we should deal with them together.
This is the best movie ever. I watch this movie all the time, and it never gets old.
I dont know what ever possessed me to buy online from Barnes & Noble....I guess the discount coupons really work, right! Putting aside my own naiveness and greed, already punished greatly by the total incompetence of the delivery service and the contempt of the so called "customer service", i would like to recommend this movie for new generations: More than a classic, a great movie. Dated, but still concerning some values of today´s youth. DONT EVER ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE FROM BARNES AND NOBLE. YOU LIKE THE STORE? CHECK THE ONE NEXT TO YOU! If you don´t, be prepared for the longest two months of delivery ever, automatic responses from customer service 5 days after your inquiries online, and a treatment not even dogs deserve.
Dude ordered a pizza to his class!!! Penn just looks at the camera and I am rolling on the floor.. I am 31 and think the 80's was the last great decade...
