Overview

Intrigue, danger, and traditional film noir conventions come to small-town America in Roan Group Archival Entertainment's release of the double-feature DVD containing both Orson Welles' The Stranger (1946) and the suspenseful Cause for Alarm (1951). Digitally mastered from the original source materials and presented in their original 1.33:1 full-screen aspect ratios, both films in this exciting package also contain new Dolby Digital Mono soundtracks. One of the most accessible features from one of the most celebrated directors in film history, this newly restored version of The Stranger (presented in it's original 95-minute running time) certainly deserves a spot in the collection of any serious film buff, despite the lack of special features.
