Finding ForresterDirector: Gus Van Sant, Sean Connery, Rob Brown, F. Murray Abraham
In the spirit of his Oscar-winning Good Will Hunting, Gus Van Sant directs this tale of the unlikely bond that develops between an aging, reclusive novelist named Forrester (Sean Connery) -- who hasn't written anything since winning a Pulitzer Prize decades earlier -- and Jamal (Rob Brown), a 16-year-old with a hidden desire to be a writer. When Jamal is cited for his athleticism in basketball by an elite Manhattan prep school, he is forced to adapt to an environment far from his South Bronx upbringing, and a small mishap leads him to the eccentric, uneasy Forrester. After their initial apprehension of each other, they begin to fuel each other's fire for writing, and become unlikely friends despite their ages and backgrounds. Forrester's devotion to Jamal becomes enhanced when he must defend allegations of plagiarism enforced by Professor Crawford (F. Murray Abraham), jeopardizing Jamal's future. The film also features Anna Paquin, Busta Rhymes, and Zane Copeland, Jr..

Finding Forrester is an amazing move about a black 16 year old boy Jammal who lives in the Bronx. Jammal is dared to go into The ''Window's'' apartment and steal something and that is when Jammal meets ''The Window''. ''The Window'' is Sean Connery who spies out of the window every now and then. But the window never coes out of his apartment. Jammal is a basketball player who gets a scolarsihp to a very good school. During school Jammal is assigned to read a book by a man named Forrester. Jammal makes an incredible discoverey about Forrester.
Sean Connery, arguably one of this century's finest actors, as the reclusive novelist, William Forrester, is a rare cinematic treat. Rob Brown is engaging as Jamal Warner, Forrester's gifted protege. This movie Is, most definitely, worth a look.
''Finding Forrester'' is an excellent movie to watch anytime, anywhere....the story of an unlikely friendship that develops captivated me the first time I watched it (which was not too long ago).....this will be the first DVD I buy (I just learned how to work my DVD player on my computer).....this movie should also make people think about how we should not judge each other by the color of our skin, whether Black, White, Latino, Indian, Asian, Philipino, or any other background....I hope to see more of Rob Brown in the future....if not, then this is a one of a kind movie that everyone should own...God Bless..
I think this movie is one on the best...we watched it in school and i fell in love with it...it takes so many lessons and bonds them into a package that you can laugh at cry at and admire...
I think that this movie is seriously one of the greatest of all time. Sean Connery plays an awesome hermit, he fits the intellect role very well. I think that this movie should be a requirement to watch, it's just that good.
