Volume one in the series from FMW (Frontier Martial Arts Wrestling) will appeal mainly to those with a voracious appetite for hardcore wrestling. Originally from Japan and imported to the United States by Tokyopop.com, this is bigtime wrestling with fire, knives, chains, and barbed wire. Besides the eight blood matches in the feature, there's a bonus match in the extras section. The quality of the video and audio leaves something to be desired, with cheesy graphics and non-translated Japanese appearing periodically on the screen; it looks like someone bought the American rights and released it in the U.S. with minimal effort. Viewers can choose to listen to the matches with English or Japanese commentators -- and those who speak both languages will notice that the English and Japanese interpretations of what's happening in the ring are totally different. Extra features include a history of FMW wrestling as well as a wrestler character gallery and a feature starring Hayabusa, the most famous wrestler in the league; however, none of the extras are translated into English. Only those who have a solid interest in the FMW will be willing to overlook this disc's flaws.
