In the science fiction-action film Fortress, a prison of the future can hold anyone...except an innocent man. The film is presented in 1.33:1 full-frame and is disappointing to say the least. The colors and black levels often appear soft and undefined with a small amount of edge enhancement creeping into the print. While this isn't a horrible transfer, Artisan could have done a lot more with the original source materials. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround and is only slightly better than the video presentation. The track is clear of almost all hiss or excessive distortion, though directional effects and surround sounds are sorely lacking. No alternate subtitles or soundtracks are available on this disc. Fortress only includes a few bonus materials for fans to peruse through; all that's featured on this disc is a theatrical trailer for the film, some thin production notes, and some information on the cast and crew.
