Disney could actually learn a lot from this set, given that their Muppet Show: Season One release was devoid of anything similar. Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Considering the fact that the competition included animated incarnations of The Little Rascals and Laverne & Shirley, and yet another Scooby-Do spin-off, it seems faint praise to say that Fraggle Rock was the class act of children’s television in 1983. But this Jim Henson series takes its cue from the Fraggles, who are proud to be “the very pinnacle of civilization and culture.” This cherished, long-unavailable series was reintroduced to a new generation with several DVD episode compilations. Not content to give fans just a piece of the Rock, this set contains all 24 episodes from the inaugural season. Fraggle Rock is an underground world inhabited by fun-loving Fraggles, work-obsessed Doozers, and bullying, gigantic Gorgs. The first episode sets the elaborate stage, as intrepid Uncle Matt boldly goes where no Fraggle has gone before -- the hole in Doc's workshop wall that leads to the mythical "outer space" (the human world). Exploring this strange new world, Matt writes down his observations on postcards that he mails to his cautious nephew, Gobo. With a little help from his Fraggle friends, Gobo works up the courage to retrieve the postcards from the oblivious Doc and his lovable dog, Sprocket. Matt's discoveries about our world above ground invariably tie in to Gobo and company's adventures in subterranean Fraggle Rock. There are cleverly conceived stories about self-esteem, respecting others’ feelings, friendship, bravery, individuality, and responsibility. The songs that enhance each episode are as much a highlight as the delightful characters and clever wordplay. The release of Fraggle Rock is not just some “I love the ‘80s” nostalgia. Fraggle Rock, like all of Henson’s best work, transports viewers into wondrous new worlds.

Fraggle Rock Season One. Loads of fun and entertaining.

Fraggle Rock teaches you friendship, sharing, trust and courage. You learn to work together with others and not judge them by what you see on the surface.

    Great entertainment for kids

The first season of fraggle rock is a wonderful show of singing, dancing, and all kinds of silliness. Our preschool daughter loves it, and as a parent, I find it humorous as well. It gives exposure to all styles of music, and stresses trying to understand others. We have thoroughly enjoyed this DVD set and look forward to the next season.
