Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Jason James Richter has really grown into the role of Jesse, whose life was turned around by his friendship with Willy, the Lassie of orca whales. The third time's the charm in this second sequel in the Free Willy saga. Jesse is an intern on a whale study vessel investigating the decline in the killer whale population. He is reunited with Willy, who is about to become a father. But at the heart of this film is not Jason and Willy's enduring friendship but the moral dilemma that threatens to divide the captain of an illicit whaling boat and his 11-year-old son, Max (Vincent Berry). Max, after meeting Jesse and Willy (who saves the boy after he falls overboard), begins to ask his father uncomfortable questions about his livelihood. This film is clearly on the side of the whales, but to its credit, it does not make the captain into a shallow villain; he is a loving father who defends his right "to earn a living." The breathtaking scenery, underwater photography, and orca antics enhance this wildlife adventure.

    FREE WILLY ROCKS!

Free Willy is one of the best movies evere there is! I mean, this movie is so breathtaking and so moving...not just this but all the 3 titles...Free Willy Part 1, Part 2, Part 3...these movies are my all time favourites and I love them! I bought them a few months back and I think there is no other movie better than this in the world. I suggest everybody should have copies of all the parts of Free Willy. It's the most enchanting and moving movie ever that there is! God Bless the directors and actors and the whale of this movie...and God Bless Barnes & Noble for keeping such a priceless movie at such a reasonable price that is affordable for all classes! I LOVE FREE WILLY!
