    Wow...flashback

I remember being a teenager in the 80's and first seeing this. Though I was first disappointed that it had NOTHING to do with Camp Crystal Lake mythology, I got over it quick and eventually realized that Cursed Antiques story was even better and way more viable for an ongoing storyline. True, the 80's style tends to make one cringe every now and again, it's still a good series and for 26 hour-long (approx)episodes it's a pretty good value. The only complaint I would have to write is that the transfer is nothing to write home about. When i first saw the Title sequence I thought it had been re-mastered but alas when the episode began it was fairly grainy and aged looking. No matter I'm still glad I bought it and it's still kinda creepy.

    At Last

At first I thought that they were going to end up releasing the edited syndication version, but to my suprise each episode is complete and intact. I have heard complaints of no commentaries or other special features who cares. What is important is that the series has finally been released. Now, if they would hurry and come out with seasons 2 and 3.

    The 13th Hour

This T.V. show was originally supposed to be title "The 13th Hour." However, at the last minute, the creators decided to change the name due to the popular horror films in full swing and in their prime. "Freddy's Nightmares", a TV show based on the movies of the same name, was announced to be in post production around the scheduled release of "The 13th Hour." Creator Frank Mancuso requested that the series name be changed to bare the name "Friday the 13th The Series" in order to boost the projected ratings of its pilot episode "The Inheritence." What began as a forseeably failing horror series ran for more seasons than orginally projected, making it one of the most popular horror series in history. Among other popular horror series; Tales from the Crypt, Tales from the Darkside; and Dark Shadows, the first horror series which ran from 1966-1971.

Horror TV, One of the Best of Its Time

Friday the 13th The Series is a syndicated series dating from 20 years ago. It follows the exploits of Ryan, and Mikki as they track cursed artifacts sold by their deceased uncle from an antiques shop. Chris Wiggins plays Jack Marshak who is the new owner, and directs Ryan &amp Mikki towards each object. The show employed blue screen and other special effects which pale to some of the CGI used today. The stories, however, were fantastic and well researched. They includes everything from voodoo, to vampires, and more. I saw an episode recently and I can say that they do not age well. The production value is a little better than Forever Knight, and they 80's hair &amp style are almost comedic. The DVD includes no extras which is disappointing. Chris Wiggins is a character actor who has done everything from ReGenesis, to Earth: Final Conflict. Louise Robey (who played Mikki) and John D LeMay (Ryan) have less spectacular resumes. Commentaries or Featurettes with them would have made this release more valuable to fans.
