The story revolves around three unlikely colleagues -- a beautiful young FBI agent, Agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv), a brilliant scientist, Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble), who has spent the last 17 years in a mental institution, and the scientist’s sardonic son, Peter (Joshua Jackson) -- who investigate a series of bizarre deaths and disasters known as "The Pattern." Someone is using our world as an experimental lab, and all clues lead to Massive Dynamic, a shadowy global corporation that may be more powerful than any nation.In the pilot episode, an FBI agent recruits a brilliant but incarcerated scientist (John Noble) and his estranged, sharp-witted son (Joshua Jackson) to investigate an airborne tragedy that may harbinger a trend of increasingly unsettling phenomena.
