    more from this reviewer

    I Also Recommend:

    One of the cutest animes...ever.

And the English dub is pretty good. There are moments where it gets sad, dramatic, funny and just so cute!!!! If you love or like anime then you'll most likely like this. And of course read the manga!!! All the characters were interesting especially Kyo, Hatsuharu, Shigure, Momiji, and etc. Good story and characters.

    Fruits Basket

Fruits Basket is a touching and humerous story of a girl named Tohru Honda who becomes involved with the mysterious Sohma family. Anyone who enjoyed shojo will definetly love this. I know it seems like a lot of money but it is deffinetly worth it!! ^^

    A Touching Masterpiece

A true jewel in Takaya-sensei's crown, Fruits Basket is a series full of hope and power. No matter who you are or where you come from, chances are you'll find one character in this series with whom you can emapthize and fall in love. it's not just a sap-fest, either. Lively humor keeps the series moving. The New Year's episode in particular had me in stitches. ^_^ And, as previously mentioned, it spits bishounen out like mad. Above all, it's a warm and heartfelt series. ^_^ (Psst, the manga's better!)

    FRUiTS BASKET 3

Fruits Basket is absolutely outstanding and worth reading! It goes up to volume 23 and has about 136 chapters. =] I would recommend reading the manga first before watching the anime though.

    Fruits Basket is Awesome!

This is such a cool series! The anime should go deeper and they should go make more! However the manga, up to volume 21, is much deeper and more complex. Once you read or watch it...you'll be hooked and can't wait until volume number 22 comes out! It's that awesome!

    I bow to Fruit Basket

Sometimes people watch anime to escape reality just like we do with books, video game and music. Which is great but with this anime I didn't escape reality instead I reflected on my own life as I watched and took lessons from the series as a new way to view my life. This is a wonderful series that will draw you in more with every episode you watch.

    5 Stars are not enough...

This anime (this goes for the manga too) is amazing! It has everything, it's funny, sweet, action pact, mysterious, tragic and a non stop watch! Once you see the first episode you will not be able to stop. My question is, when are they going to continue!? I want the whole manga series in anime form!

    here's my review~!

The story's about a sixteen-year-old orphen girl named Tohru Honda. She lives with the cursed Sohma family, who transform into animals of the Chinese zodia when hugged by a member of the opposite sex. Everything seems to be fun and games for Tohru, but there are dark secrets that come along with the curse. My take: I think it's a good series, I mean, one of THE BEST~! I own all the manga books that came out alreay, and I'm already on volume 19 of Fruits Basket (reading scanlations off the internet). I recommend watching the series subbed (in japenese with subtitles) and not dubbed (english soundtrack). I found the english dub off. I mean, Tohru sounds annoying and Kyo sounds like a hill-billy~! Momiji's voice just gets on my nerves~! FUNimation really could have done a better job, replacing Laura Bailey (Tohru's voice) would the the first thing to go. So if you really want to enjoy the seris, watch it subbed~!

Everyone Has Their Own Word(s) To Describe This Heart Warming Series, but here is mine...

I remember my sister telling me about Fruit Basket but I didn't care and said whatever. Then when I finally picked one up to read at the bookstore it pulled me in deeper and deeper. I couldn't seem to stop. These series has it all heart warming, romance, friendship, hatred, love, lesson of life, secrets, dreams and courage (there’s so much more, but everyone must discover it for themselves). I brought all the volumes that are out (as of November 2005) and the DVD. I highly recommend this series, but who am I to tell you what to read and what to do...so read it if you want but if you decide not to read it then I hate but to feel sorry you missed out of one of the top selling manga in America.

    Heh, oh man.

I think five stars is enough to justify the quality of this series. Whether in book or DVD form, this is definitely something I want to read and watch over and over. Truly wonderful.
