Gargoyles is a great anime (animation) that I will always treasure. Even growing up I was a fan and watched ritually. This (or rather 'these') discs are the first 26 episodes of the second season. They also include the 'City of Stone' and 'Avalon' series--which are intriguing. They fill in the past between the Gargoyles and other characters, like Macbeth. However, I never liked the Avalon plot all that well probably because my favorite character (Brooklyn) is discarded during the duration of the three episodes. Now for the spoilers! You will find out through the first episode (Leader of the Pack) that Fox and Xanatos are in love. Which is kinda’ creepy. And in the episode ‘Kingdom’ Brooklyn is chosen as ‘second in command’. Another episode that I should point out is ‘The Mirror’ where the character Puck is introduced…somewhat—I really don’t want to give too much away. Angela (Goliath’s daughter) is introduced, as well, in this set of episodes. This show plays with some well known literature such as Shakespearian plays and the Arthurian tales. Now that I’ve proven that I am a dork I would like to state that Weisman and his crew have done an excellent job in putting this masterpiece together! I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Gargoyles, [but chances are you already own it )] and to anyone who has an inner child.

I'll keep it brief, but this is not only one of the best animated series I've ever seen, it's one of the better shows period. The depth and continuity are fantastic.
