I found this to be a wonderful movie set to the background of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi's beautifully designed structures in Barcelona. I was fortunate to see them in 1975, so I can speak from experience that this is a film that must be seen in letterbox format. The only thing wrong with the DVD of "Gaudi Afternoon" that Barnes and Noble is selling is that it NOT letterbox format! I wish they would not advertise it as such. The theatrical movie has an aspect ratio of 2.35:1. What Barnes and Noble is selling has an aspect ratio of 1.66:1. They should either quit falsely advertising it as letterbox format or find the actual letterbox version to sell. Chef Mark S. Cole CC AS 25602 Wildflower Drive Magnolia TX 77354 markcole@prodigy.net

I found this to be a wonderful movie, set to the background of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi's beautifully designed structures in Barcelona. Judy Davis is marvelous as the translator, turned reluctant gumshoe. When the alluring Frankie asks her to help find her mate Ben, who, with another woman, has absconded with their child. When Cassandra Reilley (Davis) agrees to help she finds that not everything is, as it seems. She is left scratching her head at every turn trying to figure out just what is going on and who is who.
