This series is considered to be as well done as Ken Burn's "The Civil War" It is smaller and it pay more attention to battles and history then Burns does. It doesn't attempt to cover all that Burns does. It tends to focus on the details of the battles as seen by the commanding Generals. It does a lot on the strategies and the cost of these ferocious battles to say the least. Many believe that "Gettysburg" was the turning point of the war yet was it? This series looks at the costs of Antietam and other battles before Gettysburg (it also includes Gettysburg). It comes on two discs and has a run time of 415 minutes It is a serious reenactment of the battles and the affect of them. Well worth owing along side Burn's "Civil War".
