Overview

From the creators of American Chopper, the hour-long documentary series Ghost Hunters chronicled the exploits of the members of TAPS, aka The Atlantic Paranormal Society, who traveled throughout New England investigating reports of haunted houses, psychic contact, soul possession and other such paranormal activity. The leaders of TAPS were a pair of professional plumbers named Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, who generally only indulged in ghost-hunting in their spare time. Likewise, the members of Hawes and Wilson's investigative team were comprised of Average Joes and Janes with real lives, instead of the obsessive, anal-retentive types normally associated with such pursuits. Indeed, the TAPS team were realists, who often as not shrugged philosophically when an instance of "ghostly" activity proved to be false. Still, the team was invariably thrilled when evidence of the the Paranormal was captured on camera. Referred to by its home cable network Sci-Fi Channel as a "docu-soap," the weekly, 60-minute Ghost Hunters premiered October 6, 2004.

    Ghost Hunters Season 1

As a huge GHOST Hunters fan I was excited to get this dvd but watching it I was a little disapointed in it. I love all the guys but is just wasn't as exciting as other seasons. Seasons 2-4 are much more exciting along with the fact that I get to see my favorite Ghost Hunter Dave Tango.

    Great group

I love this show, and the guys are amazing. They are very helpful. I was blessed to be able to work and train with them for a month on paranormal investigating. After that I came back home to one of the TAPS Family teams again. I had taken some time off and missed it. When I was given the chance to work with the guys I jumped at it. I learned so much from them and continue to learn. This series is a must have must see for anyone who is interested in the paranormal.

    Debunk this!

One of the best investigative teams I've seen on the paranormal. Best episodes on the dvd is the Lighthouse episode and Armory episode. Some of the creepiest things are the EVP's they pick up from different cases. Ghost Hunters goes into a place trying to debunk ghosts, if they can't they try to gather evidence for supernatural activity. The special features include quite a few deleted scenes. The only downside to this dvd is the packaging.

By Far the Best Ghost Show on TV!

Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes as the main characters are great. They aren't like other shows which aren't nearly as believable. The crew they have is also great. Brian Harnois is great he is driving and wants to prove the paranormal. They are just regular people, they work day jobs as plumbers at night, they hunt ghosts. This season was great, it made me believe.

    Skeptical and scientific ghost hunting!

What sets Ghost Hunters apart from other ghost hunting shows is that instead of going to a house and "sensing" a ghost in every other corner, TAPS, or The Atlantic Paranormal Society, enters each building with a skeptical mindset, always trying to "debunk" anything they come into contact with. As the two co-founders explain, if one tries to disprove a haunting, whatever you can't throw out becomes that much stronger as evidence. Realistically, TAPS believes that 80% of hauntings can be disproved, and there are entire episodes where the team finds absolutely nothing. But chillingly, they do often find surprising evidence of the paranormal, such as video footage of shadows and apparitions, voices recorded when no one was speaking in a room, and even objects moving on their own. A great show, and a great DVD experience as well, with extra footage for each episode.

    Loved It!

I am so glad that the first season is available, because I missed some of it. Wow, it was great, entertaining, and has more scenes. The deleted scene's really brings more understanding to what really goes on behind the scene's, deleted scene's we don't get to see on the actual episode's. I am looking forward to recieving my other DVD's of Ghost Hunter's.

Best Episodes of the Series to Date

A must own for Ghost Hunters fans. Contains the haunted lighthouse and armory episodes. Entertaining even for unbelievers, as am I.
