Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex, by Shirow Masamune, a must see!

Don’t spend another instant reading reviews of this series ... it’s a no-brainer ... Buy it now, look for the complete series! Watch for the boxed set of 2nd gig and buy it when it comes out! What ... you’re still reading? Do I have to tell you that this is the most amazing animated series I have ever seen? This is not some off-the-shelf, kid’s cartoon ... Ghost in the Shell is an adult, high tech action adventure as good as anything that has ever graced the big screen (or small screen). The manga by Shirow Masamune (itself worth experiencing) has matured and come to life in this amazing TV series. Motoko Kusanagi is a cyborg who is as deadly as she is smart and sexy. Destined to be a legendary animated character, she takes orders from only one man, the chief of section nine, Aramaki. Together with her other team members, Batou, Togusa, Saito, Ishikawa, Borma, and Paz, each a memorable and unique character, they take on the jobs that no one else can handle. The animation is exceptional. From the consistent character detail, to the use of reflections, and down to the suspension on vehicles everything is perfect, including the tachikoma. What is a tachikoma? They’re big, they’re blue, they have chain guns, and the cutest little voices ever given to an AI assault mechanoid. Watch out Tickle-Me-Elmo, kids this year are going to be begging for tachikoma for Christmas. This series is not for the slow witted (you know who your are ... or maybe not). I can usually figure out where the writers are going about halfway through most movies but this series had my mind reeling at times trying to keep up. If you want to impress your friends, you need to have this one in your collection!

Very nice view of the future...

Beautiful CG opening. And the series continues to live up to its name. Its a neat look into a possible future. Great for anyone who like serious scifi.
