Overview

Ivan Reitman's blockbuster sci-fi comedy Ghostbusters comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide
Ghostbusters is an exuberant, fully realized blockbuster packed with plenty of choice moments for repeat viewing. The cast is pitch-perfect: Bill Murray's easygoing comic gifts are at their sarcastic best; Rick Moranis is hilariously pathetic; and Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis do a wonderful job as the dorky, science-minded members of the crew. Aykroyd and Ramis also wrote the one-liner-packed script; the wacky, scary subject matter made the film understandably popular with children, but there's also sophisticated humor which can only be appreciated by adults. Providing a blueprint for the many copycat summer hits to come, director Ivan Reitman impressively balances the laughs with action and horror. The special effects have held up well with time, though the soundtrack and its catch-phrase theme song may feel a little dated.

    more from this reviewer

    The story begins again.

The classic hunters of the paranormal are now back and better than ever. Not only is both movies being released on Bluray, but it allows those who will play the game (takes place 2 years after the events of Ghostbusters 2) a better understanding of the story and importantly the characters.

The movie itself was a special effects wonder, and now with current tech, I'm sure the effects and sound will blow the ghost out of your entertainment room. I can't wait.

Answer for the question: Gozer brings forth a destroyer of the city. But Ray Stanz gives the destroyer the image of the Stay Puff Marshmellow Man.
