Widely considered to be the highest profile turkey of 2003, Martin Brest's Gigli, co-starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, gets a very low-key DVD release. The film is presented in both a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio and a standard full-frame image. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1.

Overview

Widely considered to be the highest profile turkey of 2003, Martin Brest's Gigli, co-starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, gets a very low-key DVD release. The film is presented in both a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio and a standard full-frame image. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Considering most everyone involved in the film attempted to step back from it after its dismal box-office returns, there is little surprise that there are no supplemental materials of any consequence.

I really liked this movie. Jennifer Lopez was sexy as usual and the guest cameos by Al pacino and Christopher Walken was great. Ben Affleck was his normal self(good or bad depending on your taste for Ben Affleck). The scene stealer in my opinion was the mentally hadicapped brother of the federal prosecutor.i think he stole the show. All in All I wasn't disapponted in the movie.

I was expecting something a bit more than what I saw in this movie. I love J-Lo.. love all her movies but this one was terrible! The plot is sad and half-a$$ed... it could've been way better. Jennifer being a lesbian in it is, a very different role for her.. the refrence to sex CONSTANTLY throughout the movie.. is just sad. It means they couldn't come up with anything better for conversations in the movie. Don't rent this.. seriously.

Ishtar, Glitter, Showgirls and now, Gigli. The list of worst-movies-ever grows every year. Jennifer Lopez was actually good in the sappy 'Maid in Manhattan', and Affleck was passable as hero Jack Ryan in 'The Sum of All Fears'. But both of their meager talents were wasted on this festering movie. Affleck needs to either get more hair plugs or lose it all before he is going to be able to sell himself as a thug...and those tattos, can't doctors do anything to help with those? And Lopez as a street-tough? If I encountered her in an alley, I'd think she was there turning tricks instead of trying to rob me. She was more believeable as a lesbian, 'Gobble, gobble' line aside. This movie will soon migrate into the $5.88 bin at Walmart, so don't bother to waste the money on a movie rental (or buy it here!). But, perhaps Gigli may look good in comparisson to Benifer's next movie, 'Jersey Girl'. Perhaps Gigli will move to second worst.

If crap came in the form of a DVD, this is it.

The movie was one of Jennifer Lopez's best. Her streetwise demeanor, assertiveness and her declaration as a lesbian was a departure from her movies of the past few years. I felt that this was a great asset for her career. Also, the chemistry with Ben Affleck was of great benefit. Complementing the two was the great peformance of the mentally challenged Brian for bringing out the best of emotions in Gigli and Ricki. This movie is Lopez's best yet.

I heard this movie was horrendously bad, but the reviewers have been wrong before, so I went. Have you ever curled up with embarrassment for the actors, having to say such horrible lines? I was on the verge of walking out three times, but each time I stayed, hoping things would improve. They did not. Ben Affleck is my favorite actor, but good grief, who is passing on the scripts? Where was his agent? He's been in the business for 20 years, doesn't he recognize a stinker when he sees it? Oh yes. The lesbian thing. J-Lo has NO CLUE about portraying a lesbian. I know several women who happen to be of that persuasion, and there's no way they'd ever think of having sex with a man. Not even one as cute as Affleck. NOT gonna happen. A stupid story all the way around.

I must say the the trailer is better then the movie and you can love or hate this movie, but I hate this movie.
