After 50 years, Godzilla's legacy will finally come to an end. To ensure that this movie will be the most awesome one yet, at least 15 monsters have been included, including two brand-new monsters named Monster X and Kaiser Ghidorah! Sayonara, Godzilla!
this is the final installment of a great movie franchise for at least 10 years. the story was top notch but what i liked that it breated new life in to a dead genre i was highly satisfied with the movie
Godzilla is back and updated with more action than has been seen in a Godzilla flick for a long time. Godzilla: Final Wars is basically a remake of Destroy All Monsters. The film includes a large selections of older monster revamped for modern times. The plot isn't very strong, but the fight scenes between the monsters are really cool. There is also a first time humans versus monster fight (normally in a Godzilla flick it's ships, mazers and tanks you see fighting the monsters, not people actually jumping on top of a monster and blasting away). Some of the action scenes with the humans is a blatant rip off of the Matrix but it still holds one's interest. If your a Godzilla fan than you'll want this in your DVD library, if your not a Godzilla fan than still take a look, its popcorn entertainment at its best.
i was surprised to see all the monsters that where in this one. i was a HUGE fan of godzilla when i was younger. and im used to seeing the more silly faced godzilla this one looks so COOL! anyway could have had more of the monster fights but its good. and the main villian human guy is actually a good actor. the best one of the whole cast
You might get warned away from this film, because it's too campy. While this film is done fairly broadly, it has to be. The central plot contains the destruction of civilization as we know it. Trying to play it straight would be kind of hard with a guy in a giant lizard suit.
This movie shines as a showcase for the various kaiju that have been featured in Godzilla movies over the past fifty years. Some of these monsters haven't been seen since the sixties. Also Gigan get's killed. Twice!
Best of all for folks with short attention spans, the monster fight sequences are not broken-up by the usual "guy in a lab coat searches for a solution" sub-plot. Instead we get a silly but entertaining kung-fu fighting, laser blasting, sword-swinging Earth Defense Force. Not a dull moment to be had.
Of course, the acting is abysmal. Not the point at all.
1st the challenger in the blue corner the CGI crazy US creation... and now the reigning champion of the world THE KING of all monsters God-ZILLA!!!! That¿s right people they fight! (Don¿t get too exited because it was not that long. Big G had allot of other monsters to fight) this movie was the first of the new 2000 series movies I've seen and was in AW compared to what I was used to as a kid. I actually liked the story with the humans, some parts dragged on but for the most part. And the main villain guy was REALLY good! Id likes to see him in more movies he was evil and cool.
I really enjoy this movie a lot! For one thing; the action is clearly unforgettable, the suspense is dramatic, and the actual plot and storyline is awesome! I would have to agree with all the other Godzilla fans out there about one major issue though; there is not enough of Godzilla. The makers of this movie must have wanted it to focus more on the human characters; when they should have focused on the monsters instead. It's kind of like Transformers. Only; there's monsters! But I will say it is worth watching and worth waiting to see Godzilla in action. If this is really the last movie; then this must have been the very best for last; because I loved it!!! I hope that Toho will make another movie soon! LONG LIVE GODZILLA!!!!!!!!!! PS: I love Captain Gordon and I loved seeing "Zilla" get the crap beaten out of the real Godzilla!
with a new director, he wasn't interested in the Godzilla story at all!Be warned! There's only 15 minutes of Godzilla, and another 20 minutes of the other monsters, the battle scenes are rushed, leaving an hour and a half of the most boring and ridiculus story line(well there really isn't one!)stupid music in the wrong context of the film, overbaring the entire movie.I,m a huge Godzilla fan and loved the more recent ones, but this was garbage! I hated it. the fight scenes were stupid too with the monsters sliding like a car and making the same sounds, this was much like the bad, cheap Godzilla movies of the 1970's.Really disappointing installment in the series, bring back the director for the last few films , he like us are Godzilla fans.
