Overview

America's four favorite senior citizens, Dorothy Bea Arthur, Rose Betty White, Blanche Rue McClanahan, and Sophia Estelle Getty, are still residing in the same cozy Miami household as The Golden Girls launches its sixth season. This year's opener is "Blanche Delivers, as Blanche nervously prepares for the birth of her daughter Rebecca's baby -- and wonders if the fact that the kid was conceived by artificial insemination will be the source of public embarrassment. In the next episode, "Once, in St. Olaf, Don Ameche guest stars as a kindly priest -- who turns out to be Rose's long-lost father! "Wham, Bam, Thank You, Mammy" spotlights Ruby Dee as Blanche's childhood nanny. The two-part "There Goes the Bride" finds Dorothy considering remarriage to her no-good former hubby, Stan Herb Edelman, thereby allowing Debbie Reynolds to contribute a hilarious performance as the girls' temporary roommate Judy. And in "Mrs. George Devereaux, George Grizzard appears as Blanche's husband, George -- much to her astonishment, since George is supposed to be dead! Harold Gould continues to make sporadic appearances as Rose's mild-mannered boyfriend Miles Webber, whose "secret life" as a Mob accountant catches up to him big-time in the episodes "Miles to Go" and "Witness, the latter episode also featuring Kristy McNichol in a crossover appearance from the Golden Girls spin-off series Empty Nest. And near the end of the season, the two-part "Never Yell Fire in a Crowded Room" revolves around a deathbed confession that gets Dorothy's octogenarian mother, Sophia, thrown in jail on an arson rap! While ratings for The Golden Girls faltered a bit during season six, the series still finished at a respectable tenth place.

    Goldengirls DVD

I purchased this set of DVD's for my mother who is 92 and at home.
Usually during the day she listens to books on tape or on Cd's.but linkes to watch movies also I found the above dvd's and thought I would give them a try.

After she saw the first set of Golden Girl DVD's ( Season #1) she was
very animated and told me all about the episodes. She said she laughed out loud and that made me happy. We have since purchased up to Season Six.

When finished with them she insisted that I bring them home and watch them and they brightened my day too. Loved them all the Seasons

    My Favorite Golden Girls

I'm 29 years old and grew up watching this show. There is absolutely nothing bad I can say, only I wish this show had more than seven seasons. These four ladies all had different personalites that made this show perfect. R.I.P Bea Arthur and Estelle Getty

    AWESOME!!!!

The Golden Girls is the best show ever!! I love Dorothy,Blanche,Rose and Sophia.I watch this show everyday in the morning and I tell you that watching this show is a good way to start your day...but I would recommend you to get the whole collection. Reason being is because when you get the dvd, you see certain parts of an episode that they cut off on TV...so I recommend that you get the dvd and I guarantee you that you will not be dissapointed.

    The GG's Ride Again!

All of these episodes are awesome. How can you go wrong with a cast like this?? Finally we can have almost all of the episodes on DVD. The seventh season is the last season. I would like to get Golden Palace episodes on DVD, too. Maybe after the seventh season is released! I'm excited.

    About Time!!

Well, I really love watching these women act out about how they feel. They also think that nobody loves them. But, their always wrong because someone does love it is the friends and their family.

    The Golden Girls!

I'm only 18 and have been watching the Golden Girls every weekday morning for as long as I remember. They are a sure way to start of on the right foot! I've seen every episode multiple times and I still laugh at them all. Those ladies are wonderful! It would be my dream to meet any of them. I can't wait to add another season to my Golden Girls DVD collection! And to add a cliche'...Stay Golden!
