This is one of my favorite shows and although it does get overdramatic, it is just a show and since its still realistic, its still exciting

In my opinion, Grey's Anatomy is one of those made for television dramas that has simply gone on for far too long. What started years ago as an exciting and intriguing insight into the lives of those looking to make their mark in the medical field has rapidly transformed into a series of ridiculous episodes with events that are purely absurd. At this point in the series, everything seems beyond fake, and the interest and concern for the show has completely evaporated. By the eigth season of Grey's Anatomy, the characters that we once came to love are either dead, lost in another part of the country, or getting on our nerves to the point where we yearn to change the channel. In fact, a majority of the original season one cast is no longer a part of the show, which adds to the increasingly less authentic atmosphere it has become in recent seasons.
Perhaps the most climatic and annoying part of the eigth season of Grey's Anatomy occured in the final episode, when nearly the entire hospital cast became stranded in the woods after a plane crash while enroute to perform surgery. This event was the perfect example of the absurdity that Grey's Anatomy has become. As a viewer, watching this unfold was simply a 'this is so not real' moment. The deaths and added drama following this crash only killed off more of the characters who have long become a fixture of the show, and further took away from the reality of the show even further.
At this point in season eight, Grey's Anatomy has mainly become nothing more than a television show seeking to maximize profits and viewer audiences. Instead of compiling a solid television show to do this, the producers have fathomed completely absurd events and plotlines to make the show what they deem as interesting as possible. The result has been a total train-wreck of a drama that would never actually happen in real life. If you were to wander into any hospital today in the United States, it would not even remotely resemble the hospital that is depicted at Seattle-Grace. Therefore, Grey's Anatomy's quest to depict the American hospital in a made for television drama has ultimately failed.
Interestingly though, people still seem intrigued by the arrival of season nine of Grey's Anatomy this fall. I will credit the show by saying that although it is utterly fake and ridiculous, it is hard at times to change the channel or look away. Possibly out of fear of missing the next completely absurd turn of events in the show, viewers tune in every week to see just what fantasy the Grey's Anatomy producers have created this week. But, do not let this fool you. Week after week, the producers fail to truly come up with anything good. Ultimately, your time will have been better spent doing nine hundred other things besides watching this crazy television drama.
