Homage to the Classic Film Noir Love Triangle Genre

Gunshy is a modern take on the themes seen in the old fashioned crime and love triangle movies of the 30's, 40's and 50's. However in this movie the rather simple minded but honest, generous and charming criminal played by Michael Wincott is ultimately more appealing than the clever self indulgent protagonist seeking redemption played by William Peterson. The Diane Lane character's conflicted attraction to both men is believable and moving. This is a smart well- done film that is enjoyable due to the fine actors involved and the very suitable music and atmospheric backdrop.
