Overview

Maniacal mass murderer Michael Myers once again stalks trick-or-treaters in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, the fourth entry into John Carpenter's successful Halloween series. Anchor Bay serves up a second DVD edition of this film starting with a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. Fans should be pleased with the clarity and depth of this film. While there are instances of grain, dirt, and some softness in the image, overall Anchor Bay has done a great job in making sure this print looks very pleasing to the eye. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 as well as the original Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtrack. The directional effects are used well with John Carpenter's eerie Halloween theme surrounding the viewer during the most tense of scenes. The dialogue, effects, and music are all clear of any distortion, though a small bit of hiss is present during the film. No subtitles are included on this disc. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers is given slight special treatment with the inclusion of a 17-minute featurette titled "Halloween 4: Final Cut," which includes interviews with actors Danielle Harris, Ellie Cornell, George P. Wilbur, plus producer Moustapha Akkad and director Dwight Little. Fans should be thrilled to watch this informative feature, though it moves briskly and is over much too quickly. Also included on this disc is a theatrical trailer for Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. While certainly not leaps and bounds over the initial Anchor Bay release, this version of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers should nonetheless intrigue fans of the series.

This one was okay better enough than the third one which had nothing to with the Halloween story about Michael Myers so why call it part if its a different story and junk? This one was okay, it actually did have Michael but didn't like the way they skipped something of it like not have Laurie but having her 'daughter' only there and her not there. So many questions we have about this as why did she leave her to be chased by Michael and how did she end up with her now foster family. Do they know about Michael and her mother or what? We do see that Jamie has a picture of her mother and stuff but when Michael comes to the house and stuff he looks at the picture and just puts it aside as if he doesn't care about her. What exactly happened after the events of part 2 when the hospital exploded? How was Dr. Loomis and Michael being treated with the fire burns they recieved after the explosions at the hospital? It seems we may never know but can make some guesses about it. Hopefully the ninth one would be better and can make up to the cost of the not so good sequels and stand by the original. Okay movie.

After seeing the sequels again, they're not really that bad, though the creepiest by far is part 6. Here however we meet Jamie who happens to be Laurie's daughter. Now Michael goes after her and Loomis has to warn the town yet again and save the day, uh, night. Jamie lives with her new family including Rachel who I though was an alright character, even likable. Though at times Jamie does get slightly annoying, especially in part 5. I'll admit Danielle Harris did a good job in the role. I recommend watching it even though the series in a way went in a different direction, which I don't mind but at least they got Myers and Loomis to return. Ending was brutal but creepy at the same time. The film has its share of questions like what happened to Laurie after part 2? I guess it answers that but if you've seen part 7 then doesn't that like contradict sequels 4-6? All in all I like the movies, great to watch on Halloween.

This was an okay movie and wasn't all that horrible except for the whole gap between 2-4. I'm still wondering what they were thinking of doing 3. Like what's the point of calling it 3 if it has nothing to do with myers &quot he is in it, shown in a commercial about part 1&quot . anyway they should of continued the story or something. let's hope if they ever make a new installment &quot i don't mean the remake&quot , like answer all the unanswered questions that has been bugging us fans for years and maybe end the halloween series once and for all or something. we can only dream. anyway give these sequels a chance. they aren't THAT bad.

This is one of the greatest of the Halloween Movies as a matter of fact you dont need to have the whole series just stick with "Halloween - 1978" "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers" "Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers" All the rest sucked espeacially Halloween - Ressurection

I love this movie. The music may only be a reprise of the first two, but it eliminated that 'disco feel' from the first two. Rachel and Jamie are easily two likeable characters, and the acting was fantastic. I enjoyed this movie much. Joe.

What a fantastic film! This really reminded me of the first two. It had a similar story line, yet, not too similar, to the first two Halloween films. Great film, great actors, and, can you believe it, GREAT DIRECTOR! I commend all workers behind "Halloween 4- The Revenge of Micheal Myers".

I love Jamie from Halloween 4 and 5. She's a great actress and she does a great job acting for her young age. So far I've seen Halloween 4, 5, and 6. I love Halloween 4 and 5 the best because Jamie (Danielle Harris) is in it and she's hot and cute too.

This movie was pretty good although I recomend Halloween 1 or 2 rather than 4. In one and two, they were so much more suspensefull and scary! In this one, although it is frightening, If you've seen 1-3, you know what's going to happen such as: How he kills his victims, what he acts like, ect. In this film, Michael Myers's targets are Laurine AND her daughter. There are several exciting, and seemingly conclusive parts in this, but personaly, I enjoyed the part when Laurine and her daughter are ''running for their lives'' whil Myers walks patiently after them. It may not sound like much from what I'm ''saying'', but when you watch it, you'll understand. I say: BUY IT! It's a heck of alot better than Halloween III!
