I feel bad for "Hancock" because it was released in the same season as all the other super hero movies. It would have gotten so much more attention had it not been. Will Smith's perfromance shows that he is a great actor with an incredible range of emotion. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and as the first reviewer said, the twist did shock me. It was great and very unexpected. As for the second reviwer, how can you be so ignorant? This is not the 1960s. Movies are not made to appeal to white audiences or black audiences. Get with the times, there's no room for discrimination anymore. Also, Hancock is NOT like Superman at all. It's much better.

This movie was really good and I knew there was a twist somewhere but when It finally came I was still shocked. Will Smith did a good job in this film and the critics were a little too harsh on it. It was definently no Dark Knight or Ironman but it was still a good superhero film that didnt follow the usual cliches and plots of most comic book movies. Id buy this one.

This movie has been much maligned and, from many reviews I read, by people who didn't even watch it. Will Smith and Charlize Theron bring all of the emotional range of their Oscar caliber roles to this film. The story is solid in spite of complaints that the "twist" makes no sense (it makes perfect sense if you listen to the dialogue.) The acting, writing and directing are top notch all around. The effects are well done, with a couple of spots that affect the suspension of disbelief a bit much but are more than forgivable. Well worth owning and a credit to Will Smith and all involved. As for it containing superhero cliches', well, yes. It's a comedy, yet it goes well beyond that, and the superhero framework is a part of that.
Also, with regard to the second reviewer here: 1) It is difficult to take seriously a person you spells Superman as Supper Man. 2) Using &qoute instead of just " does not make you appear any smarter. 3) Your bigot is showing, big time!

Will Smith and Charlize Theron, excellent special effects, original story and a super twist - what's not to like? To the reviewer comparing this to Superman with a black star: are you for real?
