Happy Days - The Complete Second Season

As greaser Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli (Henry Winkler) became more popular during Happy Days' second season, Winkler was promoted from recurring to permanent, garnering an appearance in the opening credits. As greaser Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli (Henry Winkler) became more popular during Happy Days' second season, Winkler was promoted from recurring to permanent, garnering an appearance in the opening credits. He also ditched the nerdy beige jacket the character was forced to wear in Season 1 (execs didn't want him looking like a thug) for his trademark leather. Season 2 also marks the last time the show would be filmed in the one-camera "dramatic" style. As a test, producers filmed "Fonzie's Getting Married" in front of a studio audience with the typical three-camera setup used for sitcoms. The positive result led to this newly adapted film style for the remainder of the series, starting with Season 3. Of course, the rest of the nostalgic sitcom remained the same: Richie Cunningham (Ron Howard) and his friends Ralph (Donny Most) and Potsie (Anson Williams) continued to deal with typical teenage troubles facing them in 1950s Milwaukee. Lending support were Richie's father, Howard (Tom Bosley); mother, Marion (Marion Ross); and sister, Joanie (Erin Moran). This season's notable episodes include "A Star Is Bored," in which the Fonz plays Hamlet (in leather!) for a church benefit; "Guess Who's Coming to Christmas," featuring a Cunningham Christmas with Fonzie as guest of honor; and "Cruisin'," where Richie and the guys try to pick up girls but get into a rumble with a street gang instead.
