When the film opens, the Conners are putting the finishing touches on conning Dean (Ray Liotta), an auto-body shop owner. When the dust from that scam clears, Page announces she's ready to move away from her mother and set up shop on her own -- but in order to clear an outstanding debt, Max insists they bankrupt one more bachelor together. They settle upon phlegmatic Palm Springs widower William B. Tensy (Gene Hackman), a chain smoker with a heart of gold and a similarly bountiful bank account. Only two things stand in their way: Tensy's Teutonic caretaker Miss Madress (Nora Dunn) and beachfront bartender Jack (Jason Lee), a wry stargazer with whom Page becomes unexpectedly smitten. Heartbreakers is the third collaboration from writers Steven Mazur and Paul Guy, whose previous screwball comedy was 1997's international hit, Liar Liar.

    Jennifer Love Hewitt,

    Jennifer Love Hewitt,

Her character in this is perfect for her. She seduces and draws guys towards her. She's drenched in sexuality, yet never gets naked. Keeps her admires thinking of nothing but sex, and never gives it to them. She's a tease nothing more.

    Femme Fatales or Suductive Mistresses

While watching this movie i pondered on the similarites between 1950s movie 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' and the 2001 sexy hit. Are these women femme fatales or suductive mistresses? through the character representation of Marralyn Munroe and Jane Russell is it clear to see that these women are of a high class and go after mens riches to indoluge in diamonds and make there social norm complete. however, when i looked at heartbreakers i was confused to see how the similarites between the blonde bomb shell Marralyn and the tomboy Jane could be linked with the suggested statement that heartbreaker stars are femme fatales when they don't kill men to get what they want, they use smart suductive tricks women in socitey of the 1950s had. see the movie for yourselves and see how clever the film maker has linked the two movies together, decide for yourself if they are femme fatals or suductive mistresses.
