Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide
Poor Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Laurence): just as she's about to get her life together after escaping the pain-obsessed Cenobites from hell, her husband, Trevor (Dean Winters), drives her into a river in a traffic accident. Trevor recovers but begins having bizarre hallucinations that turn out to be real, and he's a suspect in several murders. Kirsty's body, meanwhile, has vanished. And at this point, the Hellraiser faithful know what's going on, while newcomers may be mystified -- at least briefly. This sixth entry in the 15-year-old franchise is a solid enough genre offering with a few suspenseful surprises, but Pinhead fans will be disappointed by how seldom the Cenobites appear. Veteran director of photography Rick Bota, making his feature-length debut, delivers striking visuals, with a haunting blue wash tinting much of the spooky footage, and he somehow keeps the back-and-forth story coherent. The grotesque finale is borrowed from the first film, but newcomers to the series won't mind. Future installments will want to focus on the franchise's strengths -- Pinhead and his pals -- to keep new fans intrigued and to draw back veteran devotees who were let down by hardly worthy previous installments.

    The decline of hellraiser continued...

While I wouldn't say this is the worst of the Hellraiser series, it is definitely thin to say the least. I love the first two movies, but some of the after attempts just seem to be relatively dull stories with a few shots of pinhead or the cenobits here and there. Worth a watch...sure....worth a buy...i would say no.

    best hellraiser since the trilogy

Welcome to the new era of hellraiser movies. no longer are we trapped with the action/slasher horror genre of yesteryear,(and the 4th installment...ugh)... instead, we are given a psychological, emotional great with a cool twist for an ending. Much better than the previous installment (but i liked that one too...) enjoy... deadboy

    THE LATEST HELLRAISER

I've just read the script for this new movie, and it sounds pretty cool. I don't think that it amounts to hellraiser 1 and 2, but it's pretty good none the less. I still can't believe that Ashley Laurance is in another hellraiser movie.
