“High Society” is a film that features good acting performances from the late Princess Grace. Grace Kelly plays the role of a privileged woman who must choose among three men that all take a romantic interest in her. She also plays a wealthy woman who wants to be understood for her redeeming qualities. “High Society” is good for those who like romantic films mixed with themes of upper class living.

Not to be dismissed as only a 'watered down' version of PHILADELPHIA STORY, this sparkling musical has much to recommend...The sound, remastered to true stereo, is dynamic, and the jazzy Cole Porter score is a treat. The interplay between Old Blue Eyes Frank and Original Blue Eyes Bing is fun to watch, and Grace Kelly is heavenly to see. Celeste Holm makes the most of her sidekick role, and Louis Calhern is brilliant as the drunken uncle. A treat, and the restoration looks grand to me.

Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, and Bing Cosby star in this terrific musical. Of course, Bing and Frank have wonderful voices but to top it off, Grace Kelly is absouloutly gorgeous and she did a wonderful job. I love this movie! This is a terrific movie that everyone should see!

We rented this movie and watched it so many times we had to buy it. Can't say enough about Grace Kelly she is so funny. We love the tune "True Love" it has to be one of the most romantic scenes ever filmed. Celest Holme and Frank Sinatra are so good in "Who wants to be a millionaire?" Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra are great in Did You Evah. All the Cole Porter tunes are memorable. Get it!

''High Society'' is a swelligant musical remake with Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra, belting out some ultra-chic Cole Porter songs. It's light, fun and filled with memorable music including the immortal love song, ''True Love''. Unfortunately, Warner Home Video's transfer is pretty disappointing. No one has more respect for the terrible condition that the original print was in, than I. I first saw this film on late night t.v. and it looked awful. I later bought the VHS copy. It too was a disaster. The laserdisc was only marginally better. But now we get a DVD that is only marginally better than any of the previously mentioned. There's a ton of digital grit and edge enhancement, aliasing and shimmering to get through on this print. Just look at how badly Frank Sinatra's coat shimmers when he first arrives at the Lord mansion. The audio is dated but well represented. You know, after seeing how poorly this film looks yet again - who cares about extra features?
