Editorial Reviews

Animerica
The high school soap opera comedy/drama is pretty standard fare in anime and manga. The story of a guy and girl who are destined for true love, if only they can ever work their way through the missteps, misunderstandings, romantic triangles/parallelograms/various other polygons, interfering friends and parents and, oh yeah, the exam hell of the Japanese high school. It's been done a lot and it's very popular. But of course this is [Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Hideaki] Anno and GAINAX doing their take on the genre. It's not going to be like anything else. Which is why the best summary of Kare Kano occurred when someone on rec.arts.anime.misc once described the series as "Marmalade Boy on acid." Mark Hairston

This is one of the best anime love series ever. When i read about it in Animerica magazine, i coulnn't wait to see it. It melted my heart and it made me wish i could have had a relationship like arime and yukino. And the comedy is excellent. if you love anime with love, comedy, and friendsip. this is the series to watch.

    THIS SERIES ROCKS!

This series, originally going under the Japanese name ''Kareshi Kanojyo No Jijyo'' or just ''KareKano'', is by far one of the sweetest and most enduring stories ever told. In this DVD, it shows many of the trials and tribulations Miyazawa Yukino goes through in just the few short months of summer vacation. Her boyfriend, Arima Souichirou, is out of town for the summer and on top of all her problems she is attempting to deal with being alone at this point, at least for now. Filling with angst, drama, comedy, and love, this is indeed so the best DVD in the KareKano series thus far to be released in the united states. A must for all anime lovers. NOTE: This series was produced by GAINAX, the same company that created ''Neon Genesis Evangelion''.
