Hitler: The Last Ten Days

( 2 )

Overview

Alec Guinness plays against stereotype, imbuing his Adolf Hitler with an introverted solemnity in Ennio De Concini's Hitler: The Last Ten Days. Set almost entirely inside Hitler's Berlin bunker, the film chronicles the dying days of the Third Reich as the Allied armies close in on Berlin. Guinness's Hitler is an enclosed depressive who sinks slowly into madness, depression, and ultimately suicide as his 1,000-Year Reich collapses around him.

    more from this reviewer

    Good Movie

This movie seems to track well with what I have read about Hitler's last days in the bunker. Alec Guinness does a very good job. The only scene I didn't like was the final one with Hitler and Eva Braun right before they committed suicide. It was made up dialog and didn't add to the movie.

Hitler last 10 days was interesting

Was pretty well written, the acting was good but not superb. The best thing about it was the basic information that was brought out about his actions and mental condition during this time period. A good movie for those who are history buffs of this era.
