H.M.S. Pinafore 3 out of 5 based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.

This version of Pinafore is barely adequate. This rating is given because Freddy Howard and Peter Marshall don't do justice to their roles. I played Sir Joseph myself and know how much work it takes. Freddy didn't do the work because he didn't know his lines. Sir Joseph is a snob. Freddy played him as a fop. Peter Marshall was much better than Freddy but didn't give much depth to the character. The other principals were quite good. The setting was excellent as were the choruses. I blame the director for too much unnecessary ad libbing.
