Did you read the book? No? You'll probably hate this.

I read the book about six months ago, not knowing there would be a movie. I wasn't a huge fan of the book. It was decent, but nothing amazing, and the ending definitely threw me for a loop. But when I saw there was a movie, I had a strange desire to see it.

I must say, it's a good thing I had read the book before. I won't spoil it but there was a particular (important) point at the end that went a bit unexplained. If you hadn't read the book, it would have left you guessing.

The plot is rather simple. Four people wind up in an old house, run by three strange people. Later into the night, a crazed killed tries to break in and kill them all because they're "sinners." Along the way, they come across a little girl who seems to know the way out. Tension runs high as they're all forced to confront the guilt of their sins and desperation sets in.

If you're not one for religious undertones, then I suggest you don't see this one, as religion is very heavy in this and by the end, does turn out to be the central theme.
It's a decent blend of suspense and religion, in my opinion.
