Overview

Megaproducer Stephen J. Cannell scored yet another of his numerous hits with the police drama Hunter, an NBC series that ran for a respectable seven seasons, from the fall of 1984 through the fall of 1991. Assessed by many as a successful attempt to recapture the popularity of Dirty Harry on the small screen, the program starred Fred Dryer as Detective Sergeant Rick Hunter, a stalwart member of the Los Angeles Police Department's homicide division, who wielded an enormous magnum and repeatedly demonstrated his fondness for firing first and asking questions afterward. His stock phrase was "Works for me," a saying that he uttered as a justification of his no-nonsense, hyper-aggressive approach to doling out justice. Assisting Hunter was Dee Dee McCall (Stepfanie Kramer), an astonishingly sexy but ruthless female cop, nicknamed "The Brass Cupcake." Later in the series, Dee Dee left the L.A.P.D. to get married, at which point Rick graduated to the L.A.P.D.'s Metro Division. This set from Mill Creek Entertainment contains the entire series, with all 152 original episodes.
