    Can't wait to see this!

I am really looking forward to this documentary and learning more about the woman who founded the most effective animal rights group on the planet. I’m grateful to PETA for all of the good work they do and for helping so many people turn their compassion for animals into action.

    Animal Warrior at Work!

I'm so looking forward to this DVD. If it's anything like Newkirk's previous works, it's sure to be provocative, informative, and empowering. I am eager to learn what makes her tick while others sit back.

    A reviewer

In this engrossing film, documentary filmmaker Matthew Galkin goes "behind the scenes" to examine the inner workings of PETA and its founder and president, Ingrid Newkirk. He delves into Newkirk's past, exploring her childhood in India and her early work at a Maryland animal shelter. The result is a fascinating look inside the daily life of one of the world’s most famous and powerful animal rights activists. The film shows Newkirk stripping nearly naked for a protest in Times Square and follows her to Paris, where she and other PETA members storm a Jean-Paul Gaultier store and smear red paint on the windows before being arrested by police. In one of the more poignant scenes, Newkirk is shown delivering doghouses and straw bedding to neglected dogs in North Carolina who are pathetically grateful for these small comforts. “I am an Animal” gives viewers insight into why PETA is the most influential and provocative animal rights organization in the world, as well as glimpse into what drives Newkirk to dedicate her life to helping animals. The film won a "Golden Starfish" award at the Hamptons International Film Festival.

    This sounds great!

Ingrid Newkirk is an engaging storyteller and a compassionate, fascinating person. Her ideas about animal rights are progressive and well thought out, and she has had a huge influence on my life. I've read several books by Newkirk, including Making King Choices, Free the Animals, and 101 Ways to Help Animals, and I'm looking forward to watching the DVD. I'm sure it will be interesting and informative.

Can't wait to see this one

Few people are as passionate about their calling as Ingrid Newkirk and the other dedicated individuals behind PETA. Together, they have changed how the public thinks about animals and made life better for countless animals who are suffering at the hands of cruel industries. I'm interested to hear the "PETA story" in Ingrid's own words.

    PETA Rocks!

Having just finished reading Ingrid Newkirk's "50 Awesome Ways Kids Can Help Animals" my daughter and I can't wait to see this new DVD! Always refreshingly original and delightfully straightforward,PETA has changed the way that society treats animals by helping people recognize animal abuse, and giving them constructive things they can do about it. PETA's work is so important and inspiring, and I am so glad that they are out there on the frontlines fighting to make this world a better place for all animals.
