Overview

An American abroad discovers that a series of crimes may have a greater significance than imagined in this drama. Rhodes Jeff Daniels is an American human rights activist who has come to a small Mexican border town to help oversee union elections at a factory owned by a United States firm. While in Mexico, Rhodes learns that things have not been quiet around town lately -- a number of people were found shot dead in a tunnel just across the border in the States, and a pair of Californians who came to Mexico to do some trail riding have disappeared without a trace. Rhodes has a hunch the recent crimes may have something to do with the hotly contested upcoming election, and with the permission of a pal from the State Department James Spader, he joins up with Castillo Clifton Collins Jr., a police detective who is looking into the tunnel deaths. I Witness also co-stars Portia de Rossi.

    Human Rights Affects Us All

This powerful, intense and moving film was written by Robert Ozn and Colin Green and directed by Rowdy Herrington. It tells the story of 27 bodies found in a collapsed Mexican tunnel, 2 missing American teenagers and how their deaths intertwine. Jeff Daniels is James Rhodes, a human rights advocate that investigates these tragedies in cooperation with an honest Mexican homicide police officer. In the meantime, Daxmoore Industries is holding a vote for unionization. How do all of these events relate? Watch and see. No matter how anyone feels about NAFTA and illegal immigration, no one can deny that any human deserves to be treated less than humanely. Nothing demonstrates this more than the scene where the people are forced to vote verbally with an example of what the wrong vote may get them standing right in front of them. Yeah, no coercion there. Very highly recommended.
