I'm not one for vampires; I'll start there. That said, this movie can be enjoyed by anyone, I believe. One thing I found interesting about this film is that Jude Law's character is somewhat scientific about his vampirism. It's a bit of a classic predator/prey scenario as he seduces women and then attacks while he has them relaxed and trusting in his bed, but when he bites their neck, he produces little crystals from them and catalogues them. It reminds me of when monks or other persons of great spiritual wealth die, similar crystalline deposits (called "relics") can be found in their bodies, each one unique to the individual. The plot is a bit predictable, as in almost any vampire story. It's tough trying to keep a vampire lifestyle inconspicuous in today's world, so naturally there arise complications with that, and then he finds a woman that he wants to seduce but not kill, so there's more drama with that.
All around, it's a very interesting film. It's not too scary or gory (and that's probably an understatement, because I'm a total wuss about gore and scary movies) and the acting is good enough to keep you in the story.
Best viewed with an ice-cold martini or a bloody mary. ;)

Immortality is a horrible movie. I don't have a single clue what it was really about. Jude's a great actor, don't get me wrong, but he shouldn't be in this kind of stuff. I think he maybe was a vampire or something and needed victims to live. Anne was very annoying and I didn't see why she was so special compared to the other girls, and I was also confused as to if they were even in love. Somehow, I managed to erase this movie from my memory so I don't have many other reasons to justify why it's so bad, but I can't erase the fact that it IS bad. I was going to get it for my roommate for TWO DOLLARS at the local record store as a joke present, because she's resented me ever since we rented it, but I couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on it. So, basically, I'm warning you to avoid this one at all costs.
