Wonderful movie- Richard Armitage is superb!

I bought this movie because I love Monet's work and I am a fan of Richard Armitage as well. What a wonderful combination! The movie depicted the evolution of the Impressionist movement and Monet's life in an engaging, interesting and gorgeously filmed production. Related via flashback and memories the lives of Monet's contemporaries and their impact on each other (including Cezanne, Bazille, Manet, Degas and others)was well told. Monet's philosophy of painting in light and nature was beautifully described and depicted as the reenactments of the paintings of some of his most famous works illustrated. Richard Armitage was engaging and superb. It would have benefited from a little more length in the production to flesh out parts of Monet's life in more detail but overall I value the addition of this set to my collection.

This is a very interesting and informative DVD. It is beautifully done as one comes to expect for a BBC production.
