Overview

The second of the George Lucas/Steven Spielberg Indiana Jones epics is set a year or so before the events in Raiders of the Lost Ark 1984. After a brief brouhaha involving a precious vial and a wild ride down a raging Himalyan river, Indy Harrison Ford gets down to the problem at hand: retrieving a precious gem and several kidnapped young boys on behalf of a remote East Indian village. His companions this time around include a dimbulbed, easily frightened nightclub chanteuse Kate Capshaw, and a feisty 12-year-old kid named Short Round Quan Ke Huy. Throughout, the plot takes second place to the thrills, which include a harrowing rollercoaster ride in an abandoned mineshaft and Indy's rescue of the heroine from a ritual sacrifice. There are also a couple of cute references to Raiders of the Lost Ark, notably a funny variation of Indy's shooting of the Sherpa warrior.

    Fantastic Collection!

    I have been a fan of the Indiana Jones movies since I was a kid! I bought this compilation for my husband as a Christmas gift, & we have enjoyed it with our children as well. The second movie in the collection, "The Temple of Doom", is NOT my favorite (annoying characters abound), but the rest of the movies are pure magic. I even enjoyed the last one, "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" although it pales in comparison to "Raiders of the Lost Ark". I would highly recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys movies that provide a high-energy, intellectually-stimulating, adventurous escape!

    A must have to your action packed collection

    A modern classic and must have with a little of everything - Spiritual history and awe, action packed with a touch of romance, Indy humor (Harrison Ford and Sean Connery are amazing) - an all around great collection that you will watch more than once.

    Great Epic Adventure

    This complete set is a must have to any decent video collection. Temple of Doom, is a bit of an oddball in the group, but when considering that it was meant to be a prequel to 'Raiders' you can see where it kind of fits the entire saga. However, the Kate Capshaw (Spielburg's wife) and Short Round characters are never seen again as this picture didn't do to well in its original release. The Last Crusade is one of my favorites with WWI era tanks vs. horses, the Holy Grail as the lost treasure, and Sean Connery as Indy's dad. I also love the way the evil nemesis is done in. The Crystal Skull has a great way of tying back to 'Raiders' with the Karen Allen character and moving forward into the 50's. There are much improved action sequences with the use of modern computer imagery and Cate Blanchett has a great roll as the 'Evil Russian Nemesis'.

    Harrison Ford at his BEST!! Nuf Ced!!!!!

    Got hooked right away. Ford makes Jones awesome! Watch it, then watch it AGAIN! If you dont like it, you're insane.
