Overview

Fans will shake all night long with Iron Maiden: Rock in Rio, a two-disc set filled with the band's biggest hit songs. The concert is presented in 1.33:1 full frame and sports a crystal-clear picture. The colors, black levels, and flesh tones all appear to be accurate representations of the live experience without any grain, dirt, or other defects marring the transfer. The soundtrack is presented in both Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround as well as DTS Surround, both in English. Each of these mixes should please fans looking for pulse-pounding bass and crisp, clean sound. Directional sounds are plentiful on each song, making this concert a very visceral audio experience. Also included on this disc are English, Portuguese, French, and Spanish subtitles. Disc two of this set includes a few well-produced extra features, starting with "The Band," a candid backstage interview with the various band members discussing their role in the rock group. A short featurette allows the viewer to follow the band for a day so they can get a glimpse of what it's like being on the road. Finally, there is a photo diary with images of the band and some discussion with photographer Ross Haflin and his relationship with the band.

Review from a TRUE Maiden fan

Iron Maiden is one of the most popular bands in the metal genre. My friend lent me this DVD. I never even heard them before. Once I saw them, I was hooked. This band is INSANE! I've seen Maiden 4 times since I saw it, and they are definitely my favorite band! This DVD is great!! MUST BUY FOR MAIDEN FANS... and for people who never heard of them! You dont know what your missing out!

Judy in OK City -- The biggest Iron Maiden Fan in the state not counting my husband and 2 sons!! August 19, 2003

This video tape is the best. I rate it all the stars in the Universe it's that good. Iron Maiden is so talented and any band that can sell out to thousands and thousands of people at concerts like this one in the video without ever being given an second of airtime on the radio is doing something right!!! Steve Harris on the bass is the best. Fingers just fly on those strings and all 3 guitar plays are great but Dave Murray is really great. Bruce Dickinson's voice is as strong as ever. They have devoted fans and as long as the fans keep coming......they will play. They are stronger than ever and this video from 2001 shows just that. Excellent, Excellent video......you will not be disappointed with this one!!!
