This is really a great work out. I would say the level is intermediate/advanced. It's good for beginners who have mastered their easier level videos and are ready to kick it up a few notches. I like Jillian and her assistants - none appear to be surgically enhanced so it really motivates me to work hard so I can look like them naturally :-)

I thought this workout was very difficult for my skill level. I think for younger people it would be very challenging and a very good workout, but I'm a 55 year old woman and most of the exercises were impossible for me to do and very hard on the joints. One exercise in particular that we used to call "squat thrusts" back in high school in the 70's and Ms. Michaele's called them something like "burpees" I couldn't even figure out how to do a modified version. However, I think those at the appropriate fitness level would get a very good workout.

This workout is great! It works places that you never knew could hurt! Jillian uses circuits of moves that do not require too much coordination. She combines strength training moves with an aerobic twist You can DO the workout no matter what your ability. This is my favorite- so far!

Jillian is such a drill sergeant; and I love her for it! This DVD will burn your rear, thighs, arms, and abs. If you aren't serious about working out, don't bother! If you are, this is the one!

I bought this DVD along with No More Trouble Zones and have been alternating between the two for a couple of months now. On days I can't squeeze them in, I do The Shred or take a quick walk on the treadmill. I haven't lost much weight, but my pants are falling off!! It's amazing!! If you stay consistent with Jillian and eat a healthy diet you will see fabulous results. I am getting a freakin' six pack!!!!

I was bored with my gym routine and have been able to lose weight and build muscle a lot quicker with this work out. I have never been able to do a push up and now I can. Once you get started it moves really quickly. And even though I do think it is pretty tough, it pushes me to work harder, I love this work out!

This is a great DVD if you are looking for a very challenging workout to do in the privacy of your own home for the advanced athelete! Love it!

Jillian Michaels: Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism DVD is a top-notch workout for an intermediate to advanced person. It may be difficult for someone who is older or really out-of-shape, but I would still encourage them to try it out. Jillian shows ways to do the workouts that are less intense and ways to make it more intense. It's perfect for someone who is up for a challenging aerobic workout without having to use a treadmill, elliptical or other machine. She shows you techniques to use your own body weight to create resistance and ultimately changes in your body. She really knows how to work your muscles to exhaustion in the right way and right order. The workout circuits switch from high intensity to moderate to high again. After this 45 minute workout, I can feel my muscles toning and my metabolism burning. I would highly recommend this video to anyone who wants to get a all-over high intense workout in the comfort of your own home. You don't need a big space, most of the moves are done within a short span.

I think this is a very motivating workout. It works your hole body which is great. I love it when I get different workouts from Jillian that has circuts you can choose from.

Love Jillian-only DVDs that I think are effective. This is a killer hardcore 45 minutes of nonstop cardio. I find that you shouldn't try to keep up with them, do your best. I've seen results on my body with this in a quick amount of time. I highly recommend. Make sure you have a lot of water And good sneakers. Good luck!

I love Jillian Michaels and this is by far (to date) the best DVD she has put out. I am a 5-6 day a week exercise person and this DVD kicks my butt! I love it! It is a must have for anyone wanting a great work-out or a change to their routine.

I don't watch The Biggest Loser, and I was skeptical of Jillian Michaels. I wondered if she was just another TV star who made a DVD. Thankfully, I was very wrong. This workout is a solid knockout, and it delivers. There are few that do what she can do. I find I have to rotate workouts to keep from being bored, but her routine is so challenging, I could do it everytime I do aerobics. Absolutely love it! I will be adding more of her DVDS to my routine. She is a solid performer!

I own 3 dvd'd of Jillians & i have been doing the 30 day shred on a regular basis for almost a year with excellent results so i was excited when the 2 new workouts (no more trouble zones & this one) came out! I found this one not nearly challenging enough. I still love Jillian & the results that she brings...but if i had to recommend a great Jillian workout, this would not be it!

I run 5 miles a day, 5 days a week...the first time I did this video I only lasted 17 minutes and thought I was gonna puke. She works you hard and it is a killer workout. I can already tell that after 30 days I am gonna be ripped!!!

This is my favorite of Jillian's DVDs. It is a tough work out, but she keeps you motivated through out. This DVD is work cardio focuses as it does not require hand weights like Jillian's two other DVDs. My only minor complaint is that the menu refers to it as a 40 minute workout when it is actually 55 minutes (including warm up and cool down). I only wish she had more than 3 DVDs!

Very good. You'll sweat so much you'll think you're melting - in a good way. If you make it to the last circuit, you'll feel really good about yourself. Drink a lot of water before you begin!
