Who's the old man with the goatee behind the drums?

Great film. I write mainly to correct a howler in the 'All Movie Guide' review. Mitch Miller (of 'Sing Along with Mitch' fame, and a longtime Columbia Records A&R man who despised rock) would probably have slit his own wrists before playing drums with Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix' drummer in this film was, of course, original Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell.

    Awesome,if somewhat dated.

This DVD shows Hendrix and his band in fine form on every song. Too bad there is some bad editing. If you look past the 60's look and feel (not to mention interviews with 'common folk') there is alot to enjoy here. Also included as a bonus is the entire second show in 5.1 and stereo. All things considered, I am very satisfied with this historical document.

Hendrix at his best, if somewhat misrepresented.

Jimi, Mitch(drums),and Billy(bass)are truly enjoying themselves here. Much better than Woodstock, and more mature than 'Jimi Plays Monterey' Berkley really shows what was indeed so great about this man. More than just a guitarist, Jimi was a profesional entertainer. The band seems to 'fall in' on most of the songs and also there appears to be two sides to Hendrix and his band. The 'devil may care' freak outs (Johnny B. Goode) and the 'serious virtoso' (Machine Gun). If you ignore the 60's 'quality' of some of this video, you will find the real Jimi Hendrix. 4 stars easy !
